Tortona, experimentation territory in terms of product and synergy locally and internationally, has always been a symbol for Fuorisalone and this year it discloses a vivid agenda between via Tortona, via Savona and via Bergognone.

Design Awareness will be the leitmotif of Tortona Rocks project, collecting innovative and international vision exchange, working like a “design antenna”. With 20 projects, 60 designers and 50 companies, Tortona Rocks will make us think on how designing a new awareness actually involves knowing how to decode the era of great transformation that we are living, tracing new sustainable lifestyles.

Highlight of this edition is the multidimensional environmental design project by the British artist Alex Chinneck for IQOS WORLD. In his first Italian exhibition, his talent can be appreciated in surreal and unusual site-specific interventions when he changes of the façade and the buildings from Opificio 31, subverting the visitors’ perception.
“Belgium is Design” can also be found in Opificio 31 from the Belgium organization that presents the collective Generous Nature, dedicated to the protection of the ecosystem and the sustainable development. The exhibition aims to give design a fundamental role in the process of change in view of a more conscious action.

Sustainability is a topic that will be used to propose solutions related to the technological vision as well as the green mobility and robotics. For this reason, Hyundai organized “Style Set Free”, presenting the car of the future and offering different possibilities concerning mobility in the independent drive and the electric car interior design; still focusing in the automotive industry, Peugeot Design Lab presents the exhibition “#Unboringthefuture” approaching once again the electrification with an animation created especially for this event.

“Affinity in Autonomy: Envisioning the relationship between humans and robotics” is instead an exhibition hosted in Spazio Zegna curated by Sony Design: the development of a new robotic vision can provide an added value to people, therefore changing the society in a positive way. Still in robotics, Samsung “Resonance” installation in via Bergognone 26 proposes the visitors an iridescent labyrinth where multisensorial experiences can be experimented thanks to the advanced technologies.

Not to miss in Tortona district the SuperDesign Show space, produced by Superstudio group. This year Gisella Borioli with the art director Giulio Cappellini, after having launched the original format “less fair, more museum”, will continue with the usual ONLY THE BEST concentrating the attention on INNOVATION & TRADITION.

And Giulio Cappellini himself will open the special project “SUPERHOTEL”, an international hotel with Italian roots that mixes industrial products and high craftsmanship, especially made for the occasion.
On the technology trend, the Korean LG Electronics presents their first worldwide OLED rollable TV, while Dassault Systèmes with “Design in the Age of Experience” explains how the design thinking can satisfy the urban environmental needs in the XXI century.
Another news involves BASE Milano hosting Ventura Projects with a going-back-to- the-roots project together with an urban regeneration.

This new Fuorisalone 2019 by Tortona Desing Week will also be a revisiting of the visitor experience with a new reading system along the entire exhibition: an augmented reality project, developed in collaboration with Sense - immaterial Reality, will allow to amplify the visitors' experience with a few simple steps.

On the wave of a hot topic such as sustainability, appointments expected in Tortona District will be without no doubt a milestone for this Fuorisalone 2019
