MILANO KIDS DESIGN WEEK
From April 7 to 13, MILANO KIDS DESIGN WEEK returns with the PlayRooms project—spaces dedicated to play and creativity for children and families, spread across Milan.
Among the many activities, the Culture and Colors workshop is back at the Chinese Cultural Center, inviting kids to explore emotions through their own personalized color palettes. But that’s not all! New, exclusive workshops will enrich the Center’s program, offering unique and engaging experiences.
And there’s more—other PlayRooms will also feature a full schedule of exciting initiatives waiting to be discovered. The program is continuously updated, and all the details can be found at:

CHIQUITA HOUSE
The Chiquita House is an open, colorful, and inclusive space where art is experienced spontaneously and interactively. For the Pop by Nature campaign, Argentine artist Sebastian Curi was invited to reinterpret the pop soul of the Chiquita banana in his signature style.
Located in the heart of the Brera Design District, the Chiquita House transforms into a space dedicated to immersive, analog, and technological experiences. The characters from Seba Curi’s artwork come to life, turning into interactive figures that engage visitors through the act of eating bananas—the ultimate pop fruit.
Thanks to an interactive installation using Kinect® technology, visitors can transform themselves into a Chiquita banana and see their movements mirrored by a digital avatar. The experience also features games, exclusive gadgets, and also the possibility of generating, thanks to AI, a customised vignette to be printed. All in true Chiquita style: fun, colorful, and natural.

PLAYFUL SCULPTURES
The YUUGU series was designed by Naoto Fukasawa to transform playground equipment into sculptural objects. For Design Week, the YUUGU series is installed outside the Triennale as a Playful Sculpture, creating a space where children and adults can have fun and spend time freely. It is an invitation to perceive the creativity and beauty hidden in playfulness. Among the pieces, OMOCHI resembles a slide, but its smooth surface also invites children to explore the joy of touch; BANRI, with its ring of slopes, creates endless games; and finally, HOUSE and DONUT inspire imaginative hideaways and explorations.

GIROTONDO
What is love? A creative inquiry that goes beyond words: love as told by children. Six vases arranged in a circle form a child's vision that captures the untamed essence of affection, sketching its purest form. Beneath them, carpets unfold like lively, vibrant doodles—organic and fluid—as if love had spilled onto the ground and transformed into fabric. Step into the drawings. Feel the embrace. "Girotondo," by Sara Ricciardi x Rometti and Doodle Rugs, is a dance of love, a continuous, collective movement. It’s like singing together "Ring-a-ring o’ roses, we all fall down"—but what if, thanks to love, we could remain standing?

COLORFUL AND JOYFUL INSTALLATIONS
Since 2011, the TOG Foundation has been committed to providing free care for children and adolescents with complex neurological conditions. Now, it opens the doors of its Center to bring a reflection on accessible design to Design Week. Throughout the week, the exterior spaces of the TOG Center will host colorful and joyful installations: Douuble, by Pollodesign Factory, and “a greenhouse” featuring paper trees donated by Fustellificio Vicentino and customized by Milanese artists—a collection entirely designed to be interlocked, giving everyone the chance to assemble it. From this collection, the “NIDin” line will be on display—a birdhouse that can become a lamp—and “OTTO,” a low bench in the shape of a dachshund that also functions as a magazine rack.
A section of the exhibition will be dedicated to showcasing lighTOGether, a project conceived by Matteo Ragni Studio: 101 designers have each designed a lamp, produced as unique pieces in the Foundation’s FabLab. TOG Design Week will conclude on Saturday, April 12, with live music at 6:00 PM, and on this occasion, the TOG Bistrot will remain open until 9:00 PM.

AN IMMERSIVE INSTALLATION
Portanuova Vertical Connection is a site-specific immersive installation that interprets the theme “Connected Worlds” of Fuorisalone 2025. The modular, zero-impact structure built with Layher unites architecture, technology, and nature in a physical and digital journey. Artificial Intelligence guides the experience, transforming visitors’ inputs into visual and sound content. In collaboration with Prof. Mancuso, the installation explores the relationship between urban greenery and the city of the future. The plants used will either be returned to nature or adopted by visitors. It’s a journey through sustainability, innovation, and interaction. Among the brand partners is Ecoalf, which, through its “From the Earth to the T-Shirt” campaign, is committed to regenerating the soil by redefining the relationship between Man and Planet. A video detailing the project in Ahmedabad, India, reveals the regeneration process, showcasing up-close the fruits derived from regenerative cotton seeds.

BOLZAN AND SOU MILANO: CHILDREN BECOME DESIGN AMBASSADORS AT MILAN DESIGN WEEK
For the second consecutive year, Bolzan renews its collaboration with SOU Milano, the School of Architecture for children founded by Mario Cucinella and directed by Caterina Malinconico. This year, Bolzan's support for the school expands with an educational experience during Fuorisalone, offering a stimulating opportunity for the growth of future design talents.
On Saturday, April 12, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the BolzanSpace showroom (Via Mercato 3) will transform into a special space where SOU Milano's children will take center stage. The aspiring architects will welcome and guide visitors through the evocative installation created for Fuorisalone, sharing insights about Bolzan’s exhibited products—four signature headboards designed by renowned international designers.
To make the experience even more engaging, the young architecture students, with the support of Bolzan, participated in a classroom workshop where they created a collection of illustrated postcards featuring their own drawings. They also designed personalized stamps, each signed individually. Adding even more value to the collection, Mario Cucinella and Caterina Malinconico have designed their own exclusive stamps.
During the event, the children, accompanied by their teachers and the Bolzan team, will distribute the postcards to visitors, personalizing them with dedications and offering a fresh and original perspective on the world of design. An unmissable opportunity to discover the creativity of the youngest minds!
