Fashion Brands at Design Week 2025

— 02 April 2025

Installations, exhibitions, new collections, and projects that seamlessly blend fashion and design, all not to be missed during Design Week

GUCCI

Gucci presents Gucci | Bamboo Encounters, an exhibition that celebrates the legacy of bamboo in design history and its role in the Maison’s identity. Set in the stunning Chiostri di San Simpliciano in Milan, the project, curated and designed by 2050+ and its founder Ippolito Pestellini Laparelli, draws inspiration from the pioneering use of bamboo. Building on this rich heritage, the exhibition showcases seven unique projects created by contemporary designers from diverse geographies and generations, who have been invited to reimagine and reinterpret this emblematic material in bold and unexpected ways.

PRADA

Prada Frames, the annual symposium dedicated to interdisciplinary dialogue between design, culture, and society, curated by Formafantasma, takes In Transit as its theme. The focus will be on infrastructures, not only as functional elements but as dynamic systems that shape the contemporary social, economic, and cultural landscape, influencing or regulating the movement of people, goods, data, and power. The talks will take place in the Padiglione Reale at Milan’s Central Station, a historic waiting room once reserved for Italian royalty and heads of state, and aboard Arlecchino, a train designed in the 1950s by Gio Ponti and Giulio Minoletti and recently restored by the Fondazione FS Italiane. Introduced by critic and writer Alice Rawsthorn, the program will feature distinguished figures from diverse fields, from design to astrophysics. Access to Prada Frames In Transit is free, based on availability, with prior registration via prada.com

LORO PIANA

Loro Piana and Dimoremilano debut with La Prima Notte di Quiete, an immersive installation where reality and imagination intertwine. Like a film conceived and directed by Dimorestudio, the installation’s cinematic twist transports visitors into another dimension. Spread across an entrance, dining room, living room, bedroom, bathroom, and a small garden, the Loro Piana house transforms into a cocooning refuge, an intimate space that shields from the elements, noise, and external chaos. A selection of Loro Piana furniture, designed by Dimoremilano, is showcased alongside new, iconic pieces by Dimoremilano, upholstered in Loro Piana Interiors fabrics.

LOUIS VUITTON

From the first trunks that revolutionized the art of travel, Louis Vuitton has always fostered a deep connection with the world of design. For Design Week, the Maison will present its Home Collections on an entire floor of its new boutique at Via Montenapoleone 2 – designed by Peter Marino Architect – which will also house Louis Vuitton’s first restaurant in Italy (DAV by DaVittorio Louis Vuitton, run by the Cerea family) and its second café, after the one in Taormina. The five pillars of the Home Collections are: Objets Nomades, Signature, Games, Decoration, and Art de la Table. The new Home Collections will also be featured in the Objets Nomades exhibition at Palazzo Serbelloni, open to the public from April 8 to 13, blending heritage, excellence, and high craftsmanship.

JIL SANDER

Jil Sander returns to Design Week alongside Thonet: the minimalist and essential aesthetic practiced by the designer in fashion is applied to the reinterpretation of the iconic S64 chair by Marcel Breuer in the JS. THONET collection. This marks one of the rare incursions into furniture and design in Sander’s career, exhibited at Galleria Il Castello.

SAINT LAURENT

Saint Laurent brings to light four pieces designed by Charlotte Perriand between 1943 and 1967, which never went into production or remained as prototypes, selected by creative director Anthony Vaccarello. Among them are a five-seat sofa designed for the Paris residence of the Japanese Ambassador, featuring a seven-meter-long curved wooden base, and the Table Mille-Feuilles, made of ten layers of two different woods stacked like a millefeuille cake, which until now had only existed as a maquette on the designer’s desk.

HERMÈS

At La Pelota, Hermès presents an immersive experience where materials blend with light. The scenography, designed by Charlotte Macaux Perelman – architect and artistic director of Hermès collections – in collaboration with Alexis Fabry, transforms the space into an ethereal environment where design is expressed as pure emotion. With suspended, light structures, the scenography plays with light and shadows, revealing new creations in a dreamlike atmosphere.
