A futuristic soccer ball designed by Nendo

Making soccer accessible, and also sustainable: this is the challenge that the Japanese studio Nendo has set itself with the My Football Kit project.

Three types of components for a total of 54 pieces. These are the ingredients to make up My Football Kit, a soccer ball designed by the Japanese studio Nendo, whose goal is to spread the game of soccer and make it accessible to children in the world's poorest communities.

At first glance, it looks like a futuristic object, a ball that leaves a mark if it hits your face. But My Football Kit has been studied in detail to be easily assembled and used even barefoot. Strictly recycled polypropylene and synthetic resin are coupled to obtain a soft touch and difficult to fragment, even in case of breakage of one of the parts (as modular, it can be easily replaced).

In order to maintain its shape, the ball exploits the resistance of the materials of which it is composed, in this way it remains assembled and in "tension" even when in use. The result of the assembly of the single components is a perfect sphere, light and resistant.

The range of colors allows children to choose and customize their own game. The assembly instructions are given in a clear and comprehensible illustrated booklet, so preparation for the game becomes an exciting and involving moment. The packaging is also part of the project: a comfortable backpack to carry the ball always with you.
