A collection of questions on contemporary living, curated by Stefano Mirti opens today at Milan Triennale

Defining 999. Una collezione di domande sull’abitare contemporaneo, the project curated by Stefano Mirti and on stage at Milan Triennale from 12th January to 2nd April, is not easy. Is it an exhibition? An event? A provocation?

999 questions on living is the result of a huge investigation on the concept of house, living, sense of home, that evolves with time and space. A curatorial, communication and exhibition “experiment”, but also a social, cultural and participatory one where public and co-curators take part in the making of a story. The countless inputs proposed by the initiative are real food for thought, entertainment and reflection. The storytelling develops through the new variations of “home-made”, digital manufacturing, the house seen by an Alzheimer’s patient, also dealing with the idea of living of those who have no home and the new trends. Stefano Mirti purposely designed an incomplete exhibition to actively involve the public and raise even more questions, besides the 999 ones of the title. The innovative nature of the concept also lies in the format: 999 domande wants to be a salon open to the community, a place for meeting and debate.

The exhibition is also online on Instagram and Facebook. In particular, 999 short videos were made for Instagram whose questions were asked by the players involved in the project. A call for action for everyone to ask questions and create part of the exhibition’s content. A virtual legacy that will be available for reflection even when 999 domande will shut its doors.
