Design Week
The point of view of Claudio Luti
1
The multi-faceted metropolis that contains the whole world
_
Milan is a multi-faceted metropolis with many profiles, that for one week every year becomes more lively than ever: designers and influencers of any kind gather here from all over the world, bringing with them styles and preferences, setting new trends and creating influences, giving the city that mood full of creativity and internationality.

Inside the Salone
_
Both the Salone and the Fuorisalone represent two important occasions for Kartell. The first one is for us the place for business, a meeting point with customers and the large retail sector, a crucial opportunity to make trade agreements.
3
Outside the Salone
_
The Fuorisalone is an event involving the whole city of Milan which over the last few years has played a more and more qualifying role, as sharing such experience with the city also creates new forms of blending with other realities, turning the event into something new and getting more and more similar to a storytelling of the design culture.
4
Hard work, but not harder than usual
_
For Kartell, the Design Week is first of all a week of hard work, yet not harder than the others: it is part of that seamless, relentless continuum that is the set of activities involving us the whole year studying, prototyping and creating new products and projects that will certainly flow together into the big international showcase of the Salone del Mobile.
5
Design and its public
_
The main point of reference for us people working at Kartell is our store in Via Turati, set up and designed to come into direct contact with consumers. Our visitors have grown together with the Fuorisalone, becoming more and more cultured and conscious about the design world, understanding its dynamics and developments in an international perspective.
6
Social network Design Week
_
The open approach to the public that has always characterised the Salone and the Fuorisalone finds its natural evolution in social networks: everything is shared, everything is now and here, everything is online. The role of social networks in the Design Week has become crucial, as they are able to highlight even more an already huge event. Indeed, thanks to social networks the fair is placed in a virtual showcase that anyone, from any part of the world, can use in real time. Keeping up with the times is the least, riding the wave is a must.
