Filotea
Affection in third age
“Filotea” is the name of a collection of four domestic objects, designed to facilitate affectivity in elderly individuals and couples. Each object refers to a daily gesture which encloses affection within it, such as a caress, a kiss, touching one another. The project reflects on the dynamics of affectivity in a target audience that is in increasing expansion and that today counts 30% of the population in Italy.
The collection is divided into two contexts: individual affectivity, linked to the domestic environment in which intimacy dominates: the bathroom; the affectivity of the couple connected to the home environment that is shared mainly in the family: the living room.
“Filotea” is a thesis project developed in NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti under the guidance of Claudio Larcher, NABA Design Area Leader.
