All about attitude
Korean Crafts Exhibition in Milano 2021 is held both on/offline through Palazzo Litta and Fuorisalone platform under the theme of 'All About Attitude' during the Milano Design City Period (Sep. 4th-10th 2021).
This year, it is the 9th exhibition, hosted and supervised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, and Korean Craft & Design Foundation of Korea. The exhibition planning of this year has been performed by Director Kang Jae-Yeong who directed many projects and inter-genre exchange exhibitions crossing the arts, crafts, and design.
The theme of the exhibition 'All about Attitude' moves away from crafts “of humans, by humans, and for humans” and seeks horizontal and equal relationships between the numerous agents involved in crafting (materials, objects/machines, humans, the environment, etc.). Crafts made for humans are indeed necessary, but this is simply not enough. The attitude that respects and embraces all living things other than human is the new ethics and social practice of crafts in this era. At the same time, this may be the way to restore the existence and value of crafts/artists who have been marginalized and isolated by anthropocene and capitalocene.
This exhibition composed of three themes such as 'All about Earthbound', 'All about Companion', and 'All about Posture' will be filled with various works handling extensive themes like nature and human, non-human, and etc. Also, the main images of the exhibition will be shown through the online platform in August.
This exhibition seeks to serve as an opportunity to reflect together on both the attitude of crafts and social practices through fundamental introspection on humans that can be sympathized by all the people who are living and suffering in this time of a pandemic crisis
